Thatcham Alarm

Hi all

Does anyone know what Thatcham alarm catagary is fitted to a 2001 51 plate 1.9 tdi auto ghia as my insurance wants to know, I could only say it is the standard ford one and the Thatcham site does not list the deisel models.

Afaik, it's just a cat 2 immobiliser - the alam won't qualify as it's not self arming...

Are you saying it is a cat 2 alarm or that because it does not self arm it is not a cat 2 alarm?

Cat 1 is approved Alarm & Engine Immobiliser

Cat1A is approved Alarm to be fitted with a Cat 2 immobiliser

Cat 2 is only approved Engine Immobiliser

Cat 3 is approved Physical Immobiliser i.e. Disclock etc.

 

Cat 5 is approved Tracking Device/pager/Cat 1 Alarm

Cat 2 is only approved Engine Immobiliser
